What creator performance actually looked like this month.

An anonymised benchmark of 2,234 public posts from 247 approved Malaysian creators—not a survey, rate-card claim, or one viral example.

Finding 1

Micro creators produced the strongest engagement rate in the publishable tier cohorts.

Their 9.34% view engagement led Nano and Mid creators in this sample. Mid creators, meanwhile, delivered a substantially higher median view count. The trade-off is why a shortlist should consider both attention quality and expected reach.

Compare like with like. Threads needs a different public benchmark.

TikTok accounts for 2,045 of 2,234 measured posts. Instagram meets the privacy threshold, but its smaller sample should be read as coverage information. Threads now has a substantial post sample, but no comparable public view count, so its available interaction signal is reported separately instead of being turned into a misleading percentage.

Use it to frame a shortlist—not to price or judge one creator in isolation.

For planning Compare a creator's recent median views with the relevant tier, then inspect niche and audience fit.

For buying Combine performance with deliverables, rights, reliability and the creator's actual quotation.

For reporting Record the same view-engagement formula so future campaigns remain comparable.

Enough detail to reproduce the logic. Not enough to identify a creator.

  • Only approved, non-staff Malaysian creator profiles were included.
  • A cohort is published only when it contains at least 10 distinct creators.
  • Views use the available views, reach or impressions field, in that order.
  • View engagement is likes, comments, shares and saves divided by measured views.
  • Platform coverage is uneven; platform rows describe the sample and are not a platform ranking.
  • Threads supplies public like counts but no comparable public views in this edition, so it is reported separately as median likes per post and is excluded from view-engagement calculations.
  • Macro and Mega tier cohorts are withheld because they do not meet the 10-creator publication threshold.
  • The Threads interaction addendum was added on 28 September after the original period was backfilled; it uses the same 17 August–16 September post window and eligibility filters.
  • Deleted, excluded, unapproved and staff-owned profiles are not included.

View engagement = (likes + comments + shares + saves) ÷ measured views × 100
